Joe's Work Experience

Joe has been busy recently for his work experience portfolio.  He spent a few days milking at half term, and we went back this weekend to take a few photos of him in action!  This weekend and last weekend he has been helping again with lambing at another local farm.

Corfu 2013

Just back from our fifth holiday in Arillas! This time with Jana and Evi as well as the Effingpots.

Highlights: the beach, eating at the Pergola Restaurant in Afionas, visiting Angelokastro, climbing the mountain and then descending into San Stefanos on the East coast, frappes at Aktotiri...

Northumberland

We certainly picked a good week for holidaying in the North of England.  The weather was fantastic and we even had a swim in the North Sea.

We stayed in Alnwick and visited the castle and grounds there a couple of times.  Saw where they filmed the broomstick lesson from Harry Potter I!  We had a fantastic boat trip to the Farne Islands where we saw loads of seals and puffins (I got a bit carried away taking pics of the puffins!).  We had a great day out on Hadrian's Wall and again I got carried away taking photos at the spot that featured in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (the Sycamore Gap).  We also visited Holy Island (Lindisfarne) and had our last day in Durham looking around the University as well as the more traditional tourist sites (including yet another Harry Potter filming site - the cloisters of Durham Cathedral).

Birthdays Weekend

Last weekend we celebrated 3 birthdays - Mike's (from the previous Tuesday), Mum's on the Friday and Eva's on Saturday.  Here are a few photos from Friday night's present opening for Mike and Saturday morning for Eva (when my batteries died!)  Some interesting facial expressions, Mike.  And yes, I really am a teapot!

Cambridge

Today we braved the freezing cold for a day mooching around the sights of Cambridge.  Luke really wants to go to Uni there now!  Lovely place.  We would be happy to visit him there quite regularly!

Joe's Confirmation

On Friday evening, Joe was confirmed by Bishop Malcolm along with 14 other boys and girls from the parish.  He played his part well and even managed to appear in two places at the same time (see below!)

London Trip

Back in half term we had a trip to London for a couple of days.  We did the rounds of the museums, Hyde Park, Covent Garden, China Town, etc. and here are a few pics.
