Joe gets creative

Luke left today for his school skiing holiday in Bormio (Italy) and Joe came back from school with this marvellous creation. Would you believe that it started life as a plain white t-shirt?

Apparently this is batik - wax used to make the pattern and then dyed. It was just woodwork and metalwork when I was at school!

Geocaching again

We took the Blakes on our favourite walk yesterday afternoon, in a circuit from Kirby Bellars across to Asfordby and on around back to Kirby Bellars. Quite a few caches on the way that we had found previously and one that was new to us all! Lots of new Spring lambs as well - yum.

New House

2010 03

Here are a few clips of the house taken on my phone, so not great quality. Putting in an offer in about 10 minutes time!

First Geocaching Trip of Spring!

Great day for a Geocache hunt today. The Blakes wanted to go to Rutland Water and we had already found the caches there, but it was all new for the Blakes, so we did them again! Somehow I did not manage to load the caches onto my Garmin before we left but that's OK cos there's an app for that! Managed to find them using my trusty iPhone.

My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius

I am appearing (briefly) on stage this week in Gasleak's production of the Vicar of Dibley. Most of the time I am acting as formal chaperone for the kids but I get this walk on part in the Nativity play towards the end of the show - the one where Alice gives birth and wants to check whether she has actually given birth to the son of God.

Alice: We have decided to name her after you.
Geraldine: Oh, how lovely
Alice: Yes, so we've called her Vicar.
